Industry Veteran with Strong Track Record at Western Digital and Intel Will Drive Business Expansion

SALT LAKE CITY -- silex technology america, Inc. today announced the appointment of Hubbert Smith to the position of President.

Smith will oversee day-to-day operations in both the Connectivity & Wireless and Biometrics divisions in Salt Lake City and Orange County, Calif. He will be responsible for operations, engineering, sales, marketing, driving revenue and brand awareness.

Smith brings 23 years of experience in technology, the last three of which came at Western Digital, where he served as director of enterprise marketing. He had a central role in establishing Western Digital's Enterprise product line and was instrumental in driving business unit growth of more than 10 percent quarter-on-quarter in the international marketplace. Related, Smith played a pivotal role as an industry leader in establishing the Enterprise SATA market segment.

Prior to Western Digital he was at Intel, in strategic marketing, business development and program management roles where he ran multiple successful projects. He held a leadership position in the Serial ATA industry standards group, co-authored the Intel Press book on Serial ATA, was awarded a patent, and executed multiple key business deals.
