Bill Flanigen, this year's Burton Gray Memorial Intern, is a recent graduate of George Washington University, where he majored in history and minored in philosophy. Amanda Carey, a participant in the Institute for Humane Studies' Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program, is a rising senior at Clemson University, where she studies political science and is editor in chief of The Tiger Town Observer.
We're also happy to announce that the Western Publications Association has given reason its 2008 award for best single editorial illustration. The winning cartoon was Terry Colon's "What Part of Legal Immigration Don't You Understand?" published in our October issue and based on research by Shikha Dalmia and Mike Flynn.
