We're pleased to announce that as of this issue, Kerry Howley Kerry Howley is senior editor of Reason Magazine.

She first came to Reason as an intern after graduating from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Philosophy and English in 2003.
 has been promoted to associate editor.

Several reason contributors took home prizes at the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Former Associate Editor Matt Welch and Editor-in-Chief Nick Gillespie Nick Gillespie has been the editor-in-chief of Reason magazine since 2000. He has written articles or been a commentator for many media outlets. Gillespie is known for frequently appearing in his trademark leather jacket. He has two sons, Jack and Neal.[1].  won the Entertainment/Reviews/Criticism/ Column plaque for Welch's essay "Locker-Room Liberty" (May 2005) and Gillespie's Editor's Note Editor's Note (foaled in 1993 in Kentucky) is an American thoroughbred Stallion racehorse. He was sired by 1992 U.S. Champion 2 YO Colt Forty Niner, who in turn was a son of Champion sire Mr. Prospector and out of the mare, Beware Of The Cat.
