New board encompasses more than a century of experience in

mortgage and high tech industries

realink.com Appraisal Network announced the election of its first board of directors. Michael Schafer, Neill Fendly, Hrair Aredjian, William Doyle, Deven Parekh, Steve Green, Alan Hald and Mark Korell have been elected for the 2000-2001 board. The Phoenix-based company is the e-commerce parent company of United Systems Software, Inc. (UNITED), realink.com Appraisal Network and HomeValueNow.com, which provide appraisal services to the mortgage banking industry.

Schafer is also president of realink.com's three subsidiary companies. These include United Systems Software Company (UNITED), a software provider for real estate appraisers nationwide; realink.com Appraisal Network, which connects mortgage lenders to appraisers via the Internet, and HomeValueNow.com, an advanced property valuation service available via the Internet. Before taking over the management of UNITED in 1992, Schafer was a partner in The Genesis Group Inc. Prior to joining UNITED, he founded The Video Concierge as well as Staged Right, Inc.

Neill Fendly, CMC, NAMB's 1999 Mortgage Broker of the Year, as well as the president and CEO of Phoenix-based Pathfinder Mortgage, was also elected to the board. He has served as president of the Arizona Association of Mortgage Brokers and was recently sworn in as NAMB's president-elect after having served as the association's vice president. He has been a member of both AAMB and NAMB for 12 years. Under his direction in all facets of production, Pathfinder Mortgage originated $160 million in loans last year.

Hrair Aredjian joins the board as COO and CFO of realink.com. Aredjian has 25 years of experience in international and corporate finance. Prior to joining realink.com, he served as CEO of Royal Oaks Properties, and CEO, owner and president of Thriftway stores, where he was instrumental in increasing its annual sales to more than $8 million.

William Doyle is a managing director at Insight Capital Partners and brings more than 15 years of experience in the advanced technology and healthcare industries to the board. Prior to joining Insight, Doyle was a member of the Consumer Pharmaceutical and Professional Group Operating Committee and VP of licensing and acquisitions for Johnson & Johnson. At Johnson & Johnson, Doyle was also chairman of the Professional Research and Development Council and a director of Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, Johnson & Johnson's venture capital subsidiary. Doyle was involved in the founding of Durel Corp., a joint venture of Rogers Corp. and 3M. He was the first employee of American Superconductor (NASDAQ: AMSC), and is a co-founder of BellGeospace, Inc. Doyle also serves as a director of iMany, Carstation.com, Izoic, Downstream Energy, Cleanwise.com and the Butcher Wax Company.

Another principal joining the board from Insight is Deven Parekh. Parekh has served as a principal with Berenson Minella & Company, a New York-based merchant banking firm where he worked on the firm's M&A Committee and spearheaded its aerospace industry investment banking effort. He also was involved in advising traditional industrial companies on their Internet strategies. Prior to Berenson Minella, Deven was an investment banker with The Blackstone Group where he was involved in both M&A advisory and principal activities.

Steven Green, managing member of the General Partner - Blackwater Capital Group also joins the board. Prior to joining Blackwater Capital Group, he has held senior positions with Jefferies & Co., Inc. and Bear Sterns & Co., Inc. as an institutional equity block trader assisting risk arbitrageurs, corporate and financial takeover specialists, leveraged buyout groups, pension funds and money managers. In 1990, Green formed Arcadian Capital, Inc., a boutique investment banking firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, refinancing, recapitalizations and reorganizations.

Alan Hald, co-founder of MicroAge, Inc., a nationwide provider of technology infrastructure services, also joins the board. Through his guidance, MicroAge has grown from a single location in 1976, selling hobby kit computers, to a $6 billion Fortune 500 company. For the last two years, he has served as chairman of Image Choice, a MicroAge Corporation, where he pioneered the delivery of application integration services to corporate business and government through reseller channels.

Mark Korell is Group CEO for Silicon Valley Syndicate. Korell previously served as chairman, president and CEO of FiNet.com, Inc., an e-commerce residential lending services firm headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif. He has also served as CEO of IMX Exchange Inc., an e-commerce software firm; CEO of Norwest Mortgage, Inc., the nation's largest mortgage lender and loan servicer; and CEO of GMAC Mortgage Group and its Residential Funding Corp. subsidiary.
