puraDYN Filter Technologies Announces More Sales to Miami-Dade County.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2001

Kevin G. Kroger, President & COO, announced today that the Miami Dade Transit Agency (MDTA) has purchased an additional 470 puraDYN(R) By-Pass Oil Filtration units for use by MDTA's County-wide bus fleet.

This purchase continues the MDTA goal of having 100% of its buses equipped with puraDYN units by the end of 2001. In addition, over 100 new buses set for delivery this year will have the systems factory-installed. Kroger noted that the purchase of these units by MDTA is further validation of Miami-Dade County's satisfaction with the puraDYN(R) unit's performance and ability to assist the County in its efforts to promote government efficiency.

The purchase of the puraDYN units by MDTA follows a fleet pilot program begun in early 2000 by the Miami-Dade County General Services Administration (GSA) Fleet Management Division. Kroger stated that "after over a year of evaluating the puraDYN By-Pass Oil Filtration System by Fleet Management Division, the oil had not been changed on any of the test vehicles. The oil drain interval extensions were monitored closely with routine oil analysis that continued to show that the oil remained good for continued use. Prior to installation of the puraDYN system, oil was changed an average of eight times a year."

Kroger further noted, "The pilot program clearly indicated significant savings would be achieved in terms of reduced oil change costs and the simultaneous reduction of oil consumption. An added benefit is that the engine components' wear would be reduced and engine life would be extended, since the engine is operating on continuously clean oil."

It was also announced that a minimum of 8,000 vehicles is expected to be involved in the Miami-Dade County Efficiency and Competition Committee's program of cost reduction in connection with its fleet management program. Kroger stated, "The purchase of the puraDYN units for Miami-Dade County's bus fleet bodes well for subsequent approvals of the puraDYN system by other counties nationwide."

According to Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas, as quoted in an article in American City and County magazine, "We get a lot of ideas presented to us. Some of them work, and some of them don't pan out very well. This one worked." Mayor Penelas predicted in the article that "eventually every vehicle in the Miami-Dade fleet will be equipped with the puraDYN unit." He was also quoted in the article saying that "it is saving us a lot of money."

Kroger pointed out that in addition to the obvious economic savings achieved using the puraDYN product on the County's fleet of vehicles, the environmental savings are also a huge factor in ecologically sensitive South Florida.
