otr .. OFF THE RECORD : Woolpack bratpack; New kids on the flock.

Byline: RICK FULTON EXCLUSIVE

THESE are the two blue-eyed blondes who will set pulses racing among Emmerdale's teenage bratpack.

Sammy Winward, 15, and 17-year-old Raine Davieson are about to make the countryside soap sizzle this summer.

Sammy, as Kate Addyman, will be angsty Andy Sugden's first love and Raine will play Eve Birch, battleaxe Edna's granddaughter.

They are the two red-rose Lancashire lasses who'll take over the love interest in the white-rose Yorkshire soap.

Sammy will make her debut appearance in Emmerdale next Thursday.

She said: "It is fantastic to start in Emmerdale with Raine. It is a great coincidence because we trained together at drama school. I can't wait to start. "Em-merdale has a thriving young cast."

In Sammy's storyline, young Andy gets caught with cigarettes at school and gets detention.

There he meets Kate - and a spark develops between the two which continues over the summer break.

If that isn't enough, Raine as Eve arrives towards the end of August as the rebellious granddaughter of Edna, played by Shirley Stelfox - and her looks and actions turn heads.

Hot on Sammy's heels, Raine is an ex-Blackpool public schoolgirl who has just finished sixth form.

She said: "Imagine how I felt when I won a part in my favourite soap. Eve is a strong-willed girl and is a part I can really get my teeth into."

A show spokesman added: "There are to be some real eye-opening storylines for these two girls and the rest of the village bratpack.

"We launched them together because we want to show our viewers that we already have very strong teenage storylines to complement our strong teenage following."
