oCen Communications Announces Trial of oPhone Enterprise IP Telephony Solution in Asia.

oPhone is intended to be a turnkey Internet telephony solution for enterprises. Each customer rollout includes deployment of Clarent's enterprise gateway at corporate premises, PBX/legacy system integration, and single-step dialing, high quality international VoIP/FoIP services over oCen's managed IP network, QoS assurance and customized Web billing. Billing can be evaluated within a single site or across any number of regional offices, branches or subsidiaries. The trials will allow oCen to better gauge communications usage patterns so that it can improve its product offerings to enterprises.

oPhone(TM) beta tests will continue through the summer of 2000. Later this year, oCen will also introduce CommPortal(TM), its suite of enhanced IP services for enterprises, which may include instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or , PC-originated voice and fax telephony, Web conferencing A videoconferencing session via the Internet. In order to interact with other participants, attendees use either a Web application or an application downloaded into their client machines.  and collaborations services, to enterprise customers.
