Until the end of August, Vauxhall will offer a pounds 1000 bonus to anyone trading in a car which is then scrapped in exchange for the lowest-emission versions of the Corsa, Meriva, Astra or Zafira.
Vauxhall calculate that a 12,000-mile-a-year driver who switches a 1995 Astra 1.7D for a new Astra 1.3 CDTi would not only save around pounds 300 in fuel, but also emit TO EMIT. To put out; to send forth,
