Greater Sudbury's community builders have another reason to strive.

 launched the Community Builders Awards of Excellence program at Science North's Inco Cavern Dec. 4. The awards program was conceived during deliberations over what Northern Life could do to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

"It didn't take us long to determine we wanted to honour Honour or honor (see spelling differences), is the evaluation of a person’s trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions.  the fantastic spirit of Sudbury," Atkins explained. "For 30 years we have watched and participated in this community's constant renewal and growth."

The first annual awards ceremony is scheduled for April 7, 2004. Awards of Excellence will honour individuals and organizations in seven categories: Arts, Education, Environment, Sports and Recreation, Economic Development, Health Care and the Hall of Fame.
