infoUSA.com to Supply Directory Content to Telespatial for Wireless Location-Based Service.

Business/High-Tech Editors

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2000

infoUSA.com (majority shareholder, infoUSA, Inc., Nasdaq:IUSA IUSA - Indiana University Student Association), a leading online provider of white- and yellow-pages directory content, and wireless application service provider Telespatial Inc. today announced a licensing agreement under which infoUSA.com will provide Telespatial with white- and yellow-pages directory content for its wireless real-time location-based services (LBS).

"Telespatial's LBS, supported by infoUSA.com's directory content, will provide mobile consumers with access to the most extensive, specific, and timely directory information relevant to their respective locations," said Telespatial President Scott Sobel. "infoUSA.com is a logical partner for us because of the accuracy and precise nature of its data, which is geo-coded down to a location's door-step."

"The quality of our database continues to attract companies that are focused on creating and delivering the best possible products to their customers," said infoUSA.com President and CEO Bill Chasse. "We are pleased to partner with Telespatial in their ongoing efforts to deliver a truly superior wireless experience to their customers."

Rather than simply porting the Internet to wireless devices, Telespatial's LBS and global retailer alliances, in conjunction with infoUSA.com's extensive content base of nearly 11 million U.S. businesses, make wireless Internet access truly useful to mobile consumers. Wireless device users accessing Telespatial's LBS will be able to quickly find the nearest retailer offering the product or service they seek, such as a restaurant, ATM, or gas station. It will also provide travelers with directions to their hotel, business meeting location or recreational facility.

Additionally, it enables brick-and-mortar retailers to focus on their storefront operations -- their primary investment -- without losing market share to online competitors. With its user-friendly technology, Telespatial can channel a piece of this year's expected $33 billion in business-to-consumer Internet sales to brick-and-mortar businesses by directing mobile consumers to the nearest provider of the goods and services they are ready to purchase.
