), the leading digital marketing solutions company, today announced that infoUSA will buy DoubleClick's email List Services division.

The deal gives infoUSA, parent of Walter Karl, one of the most respected names in the direct marketing field, an entree to the growing email list brokerage and management business, and allows DoubleClick to focus on, and continue to grow, its email technology business. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Included in the deal is an exclusive five-year technology agreement for DoubleClick's email technology, DARTmail, to deliver the email messages for the List Services business. infoUSA will also become the first customer of DoubleClick's list selector (programming) selector - 1. In Smalltalk or Objective C, the syntax of a message which selects a particular method in the target object.

The list selector module helps list owners better manage and optimize optimize - optimisation  their lists, and allows list renters and advertisers to target and track customized segment audiences from a series of separate lists. During the past year, DoubleClick has acquired two email technology companies and currently has almost 350 people focused on the email technology business.

DoubleClick's email List Services division has 45 branded files and over 40 million opt-in names under management as well as 28 million postal names and addresses.
