iTRACS Helps Georgia Data Center Monitor and Document All Physical Layer Connections for Improved Security; New Atlanta facility supports majority of state government's critical data transfer and storage needs.

WESTCHESTER, Ill. -- iTRACS Corporation, the leader in infrastructure management solutions, announced today that the State of Georgia deployed iTRACS software in its new data center for real-time monitoring and documentation of physical layer connections. iTRACS software provides a Layer 1 management tool that improves security, reduces illegal network access, and allows network administrators to focus on aligning IT resources with business goals.

iTRACS automates the process of discovering, monitoring and managing a network's physical and logical connections so data center personnel can quickly analyze events to determine root causes or workarounds that maintain availability, plus generate audit trail reports. The Georgia Technology Authority selected iTRACS, along with Siemon, a leader in high-performance network cabling solutions to provide Layer 1 connectivity. Siemon 10G 6(TM) cable and connectivity were utilized in conjunction with Siemon MapIT(TM) patch panels, MapIT analyzers and iTRACS software.

iTRACS provides physical layer security and cabling management support in Georgia's new data center. It can tell exactly where active devices are located on a CAD floor plan, the patch panel and switch ports they are using, the identity of users logged in (if anyone), and the network resources they have attempted to access.
