SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2000

This new track continues a distribution agreement between Raveworld.net and Server-Side Technologies, which was acquired earlier this year by iBEAM. Previously, Raveworld.net and Server-Side have teamed up to stream secure downloads of Sarah McLachlan, The Crystal Method and others.

"We are living in an electronic age," Madonna told Raveworld.net in an interview last week. "But my goal is to take the coldness and distance of machinery and computers and turn it into something haunting and emotional. Something human. I love over-processed music and I am very sentimental, so hopefully my music is a reflection of that."

With the addition of iBEAM technology, the Madonna remix will be streamed to a mass Internet audience through the company's global streaming media network, a point to multi-point system that combines satellite and fiber-optic technologies to stream media to the edges of the Internet in the most efficient manner possible. This system enables content providers such as Raveworld.net and their end users to avoid much of the congestion The condition of a network when there is not enough bandwidth to support the current traffic load.

"When the world's most-influential female artist chooses the Internet to premiere her newest remix, it's obvious that streaming media has arrived as a viable method of distributing content," said Peter B. Thanks to our DRM services, iBEAM can stream this event without jeopardizing Madonna's legal rights to choose how she distributes her content."

"Madonna is looking to generate buzz within the influencers of Gen Y See generation X. , which is our target audience," said Mark Lacey, CEO of Raveworld.net. "Our listeners are interested in trend-setting music and technology, so this is an important market for Madonna to reach. That's why she chose us. Undoubtedly, we'll experience a high amount of traffic to our site as a result. Working with Server-Side and iBEAM leaves us virtually worry-free about digital rights management and handling massive traffic loads. The iBEAM network has proven capable of managing such large events in the past. The combination of that reliability, the ability to avoid piracy and the crystal-clear quality iBEAM's network provides made choosing iBEAM for this event an obvious move."
