Lewin has been vice president of Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution at Shell Europe Oil Production since 1999. He is responsible for refining, supply and distribution of oil products across Western and Eastern Europe, including the former Soviet Union. In 2001, he was given Global Executive Leadership for the initiative when Shell Oil Products decided to undertake a major enhancement of its Global Hydrocarbon Supply Chain Processes and Tools. He also serves as a director of Shell Trading International Limited and Shell Europe Oil Products.

Lay has served as vice president of Global Processes at VF Corporation since October 2000. VF Corporation is the world's largest apparel company as well as a Fortune 500 company with annual sales of more than $5 billion. In addition to his capacity as a vice president, Lay also serves as chairman of VF's International Jeanswear Coalition.
