NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2000

-- First 3-D Simulation Technology Breakthrough Will Enable

Consumers To Virtually Try On Clothes Over The Internet --

enFashion Inc. (www.enfashion.com), creator of the breakthrough virtual apparel try-on technology VTryOn(TM), today announced completion of first round financing in the amount of $3 million.

The investor group for this Redwood-city based company includes both Bay Area venture capitalists Venture Capitalist

VTryOn(TM) is designed to dramatically increase online apparel sales by addressing fundamental concerns such as visualization Using the computer to convert data into picture form. The most basic visualization is that of turning transaction data and summary information into charts and graphs. Visualization is used in computer-aided design (CAD) to render screen images into 3D models that can be viewed from all  and fit. This proprietary technology, which will launch later this summer, far surpasses other technologies that enable shoppers to visually try on garments or to find their right size.

VTryOn(TM) will allow shoppers to actually see how they will look in a selected garment through use of an accurate virtual model trying on an accurate virtual garment that is rendered with light and shadow to show the hang and drape drape

An application may provide fixed or variable levels of zoom. A display adapter may also have built-in zoom capability.  in and out. A see-thru mechanism will also enable the shopper to see how well the garment fits in any dimension.

The VTryOn(TM) technology takes into account more than 20 measurements of an individual's body, together with the apparel manufacturer's DXF DXF - Drawing Exchange Format  image of the paper pattern and the fabric weight, elasticity and strength characteristics of each individual garment. VTryOn(TM) then undertakes a complex computer simulation of the "trying on", which ensures that the images and fit are an accurate depiction of what a shopper would see in the mirror of an actual fitting room fitting room n (in shop) → probador m

This is a major breakthrough for selling apparel on the Internet."

E-tailers will also be able to use the fitting room experience to better merchandise their product offering with real time merchandising tools.

"As it stands now, apparel buying on the net is dominated by limited repeat purchases of basic apparel from familiar brands. enFashion's VTryOn(TM) technology will give users the confidence to buy more interesting styles from brands they haven't bought from before," said Sally Shi, enFashion's Co-Founder. "What's more, the ability to try on before buying will reduce returns and thereby improve e-tailer profitability."
