Modem Wizard 4.52 contains the following features:

NetMonitor

This latest version of NetMonitor is even more user friendly and includes Kissco's revolutionary TrueSpeed technology, a quick test which tells the user the exact speed of their Internet connection. Users can even set the server and Web site location with which to perform their TrueSpeed test, while a Performance Measurement Report allows them to view their previous TrueSpeed test results in an easy-to-read HTML HTML

&uot;We have received more e-mails from customers praising TrueSpeed for its ability to keep ISPs honest (In delivering the bandwith promised), than regarding any other feature,&uot; said Cedric Adams, Kissco Internet Marketing See Internet advertising.  Manager.

The new version also includes &uot;skins&uot;, allowing users to personalize their copy of NetMonitor by decorating it with graphics of their choice. Additional &uot;skins&uot; will be available for download from Kissco's Web site (www.kissco.com).

In addition, the atomic time synchronization See real time clock, UTC and NTP.  feature automatically corrects the users system time -- perfect for travelers or users who like to keep track of their files by date and time. A &uot;Who is&uot; button will display complete information about the Web site the user is visiting -- including contact information, company location, etc., so users concerned with Internet security ''This article or section is being rewritten at

Other additions include a right-click menu option and a blinking lights display on the NetMonitor icon in the system tray which shows when data is being sent and received. NetMonitor also displays the IP address, connect speed, transfer rate, and the number of hops (Internet routes) between your PC and the Web site you're browsing. A &uot;trace route&uot; option runs a trace on the users Internet connection and shows location and round-trip time for each hop.

Optimization Wizard

The Optimization Wizard guides the user through the five easy steps to optimal Internet performance. These steps include dial-up networking (DUN) optimization, Internet optimization, and FastIP.
         -- Internet Optimization

Modem Wizard probes the user's ISP to automatically detect
the optimal maximum transmission unit (MTU) settings and RWIN
settings, eliminating user guesswork. The Xtra Boost feature
enhances settings for users, maximizing their throughput
speed -- even on cable modems or DSL connections.

         -- Dial-up Networking (DUN) Optimization

Modem Wizard examines the little known areas in the user's
dial-up networking (DUN) settings and corrects many of the
Windows values that are not configured for optimum Internet
performance. Modem Wizard optimizes the user's connection by
eliminating these unnecessary protocols that slow down
         connections.

         -- FastIP

Converts IE favorites and Netscape bookmarks into direct IP
addresses, allowing users to bypass the crowded DNS lookup
server maze. FastIP supports newest versions of Internet
         Explorer, Netscape, and Opera browsers.

Network Recovery

Never lose an Internet connection or a password again. Modem Wizard's network recovery feature allows users to save their computer name and workgroup -- and in the event of a system crash -- restore their cable or LAN network settings quickly and easily. Modem Wizard eliminates the frustration of the user having to spend endless frustrating hours reconfiguring their network and ISP (1) See in-system programmable.
