e-MedSoft.com (AMEX:MED) today announced that the company has contracted with Welsh Health Supplies, a purchasing organization representing 15 health trusts in Wales, for the use of e-MedSoft.com's United Kingdom version of its MEDConnect B2B software and services product, called esparto.

e-MedSoft.com will implement the software package on the wards and administrative offices of the hospitals managed by the Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust, one of the largest trusts in Wales. The program will begin with the trust's largest hospital, the Princess of Wales Hospital, with future plans to expand to all those represented by Welsh Health Supplies.

This deal represents the twelfth contract to be signed by e-MedSoft.com's European Division in the past two months.

e-MedSoft.com's system streamlines the procurement process by allowing nurses on a ward to browse a product catalog and select items according to specific requirements and technical specification. Once the virtual `shopping cart' has been filled and the user has placed the order, it will be instantaneously passed into the requisitioning process for approval by an authorized user.

The initial implementation will focus on improving the overall delivery timeframe, the efficiency of supply delivery, and the accuracy of order entry. Using the existing paper-based ordering and requisitioning system, stock can take days to get to where it is needed.

The introduction of the Internet-based system, esparto e-Procurement, will remove paper orders and will reduce the time cycle to allow for `just in time' ordering, limiting the amount of inventory held by Welsh Health.
