Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Richard O. Wightman was appointed military executive of the Reserve Forces Policy Board. Wightman currently is serving as the commanding general, 143rd Transportation Command, in Orlando, Fla.

Navy Reserve Rear Adm. Martin Janczak also was appointed to the Reserve Forces Policy Board as the Naval reserve A Naval Reserve is the reserve body of a nation's Navy, typically called-upon in times of conflict. Naval Reserves include;

  • Royal Naval Reserve (United Kingdom)
  • United States Navy Reserve
 member. Currently, Janczak serves as the vice chief of staff for the Joint Forces Command, in Norfolk, Va.

Navy Rear Adm. Timothy W. LaFleur has been nominated for promotion to vice admiral with assignment as commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. . Presently, LaFleur is serving as deputy commander and chief of staff, U.S. Atlantic Fleet A number of countries currently have or previously had an Atlantic Fleet in their navies.

The president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Albert H. Konetzni for promotion to vice admiral with assignment as deputy commander and chief of staff, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, in Norfolk, Va. Currently, Konetzni is serving as commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor Pearl Harbor, land-locked harbor, on the southern coast of Oahu island, Hawaii, W of Honolulu; one of the largest and best natural harbors in the E Pacific Ocean. In the vicinity are many U.S. military installations, including the chief U.S. , Hawaii.

Navy Rear Adm. (Lower Half, Select) Michael A. Sharp was assigned as program executive officer, Mine Warfare The strategic, operational, and tactical use of mines and mine countermeasures. Mine warfare is divided into two basic subdivisions: the laying of mines to degrade the enemy's capabilities to wage land, air, and maritime warfare; and the countering of enemy-laid mines to permit friendly , in Arlington, Va. Sharp previously served as project manager, Submarine Communications Program Software that manages the transmission of data between computers, typically via modem and the serial port. Such programs were very popular for connecting to BBSs before the Internet took off.  Office, Naval Space and Warfare Systems Command, in San Diego.

Navy Rear Adm. (Select) Gary Roughead Admiral Gary Roughead is the 29th and current Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). He previously served as Commander, Fleet Forces Command (FLTFORCOM) of the United States Navy. He assumed his current duties on September 29, 2007.  has been assigned as chief of Legislative Affairs. Previously, Roughead served as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Two.

Eastman Kodak Co., of Rochester, N.Y., has appointed Thomas F. Cummings director of manufacturing and vice president of commercial and government systems (C&GS). In this position, Cummings is responsible for manufacturing and supply-chain operations and is the leader of the C&GS's center of excellence for manufacturing and supply chain.

Frank J. Koester joined Eastman Kodak Co. as director of technical operations and vice president of C&GS. Koester comes to Kodak from the Space Systems Group of Orbital Sciences Corp.

Lynn Meland has been appointed president of EMAssist, located in Sacramento, Calif. Prior to this position, Meland was director of product engineering at GenCorp Aerojet.

Robert B. Spiker as been elected as the corporate vice president and controller for Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the 1994 purchase of Grumman by Northrop. The company is the third largest defense contractor for the U.S. , in Los Angeles. In this position, Spiker has responsibility for financial reporting and planning, benefit analysis and corporate accounting functions.
