Speaking to the American Society of Newspaper Editors last April, Intel chairman Andy Grove predicted that most daily newspapers will be out of business by the year 2003. He believes that the Internet will displace most newspapers as a source of information. He quotes, "Newspapers are caught in the vise of two trends: One, their readership is being lured by online news sources, and two, online auction sites are competition for their classifieds. At first, these phenomena would only affect them at the margins, but as time goes on, both are likely to accelerate." bib.net Corporation is an Internet content company with a focus on Web-based business news and financial information delivered in text and video-audio formats to business executives and online traders. The company's flagship product, bib.net News, is located on the World-Wide Web at www.bib.net |
