arcplan Names New President/CEO for US Operations; Guenter H. Krauss at the Helm of arcplan, Inc. February 20.

BERWYN, Pa. -- Guenter Krauss, former vice president and general manager of Critical Path, Inc. (CPTH), was recently appointed president and CEO for arcplan Inc., the US subsidiary of arcplan Information Services, a leading global provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions. Krauss joined arcplan Inc., in its Berwyn, PA headquarters Feb. 20.

With 25 years of expertise in high tech, Krauss brings extensive experience managing fast-growing businesses and building effective global teams along with an in-depth understanding of the software and services industry. Krauss will lead corporate and product strategy in the Americas.

At CPTH, a developer of messaging solutions for mobile, broadband and fixed-line service providers, Krauss oversaw international revenues of more than $50M. Prior to CPTH, he consulted for many global companies, and founded and operated Austin-based Alentis Corporation, a software provider for ASPs as President and CEO. Krauss also previously served as vice president of the International Division of Pervasive Software (PVSW), where he increased international revenue from 20 percent to nearly 60 percent of the company's total revenue of $59 million, enabling Pervasive to file for a successful IPO.

Earlier in his career, Krauss served as vice president, Europe for Retix Corporation managing multiple subsidiaries with over 100 international employees. He has also held management positions with Schindler AG, Santa Cruz Operations and RAIR Computer. He began his career with IBM after graduation from TGM Vienna (Engineering College). Mr. Krauss speaks 6 languages fluently and is a founding member of the Mayor's International Task Force in Austin, Texas; he is a recognized speaker and respected visionary on international and business topics.
