Melvin M. Heckman, a life member of Chapter 9 in Sheridan, Wyo., was recently honored for more than 25 years of volunteer service at his local VA medical center. Heckman, who earned a Purple Heart during the attack on Pearl Harbor, has held every office in his Chapter and currently serves as Assistant Adjutant and Treasurer.
