technology for its new Buz(TM) multimedia producer announced today.

Iomega's Buz multimedia producer, when used with Iomega's Jaz(R) and Zip(TM) disks, will offer one of the most convenient tools for consumers to capture home videos and photos from consumer electronics products such as camcorders and digital cameras and create personalized movies on the PC. When used with an Iomega Jaz disk(TM), the new multimedia producer will be able to store one hour of quality video, enabling the interchange of video movies between consumer PC users.

"We seriously evaluated the currently available video compression solutions on the market and chose Zoran based upon their leadership position in the JPEG business," said Maury Domengeaux, director of Jaz product marketing for Iomega Corp. "Zoran's field proven JPEG technology combined with Iomega's affordable and easy-to-use consumer video products, should enable a new class of PC users to personalize and enjoy home movies as never before. This will further proliferate the market of removable PC storage such as the Jaz and Zip drives."

"We are very pleased to be providing our JPEG technology to an industry leader such as Iomega," said Isaac Shenberg, vice president of sales and marketing for Zoran Corp. "We think that the distribution of video among PC users using low-cost, high capacity storage devices such as the Jaz disks, is the first step in bringing quality video into the homes of non-professional PC users. Iomega's approach in enabling consumer based video PC products is expected to further expand the reach of our JPEG technology into cost sensitive markets."
