 of China, to launch a Chinese edition of "PC Magazine." The 160-page debut premier issue is already available. The title will publish monthly and has the same mission as its U.S. counterpart, that is, to help professionals "make educated and effective technology purchasing decisions."

The new edition covers all major product areas and topics, including desktop and motebook computers, printers, network equipment and servers, PDAs, cell phones, MP3 players and digital cameras. The joint venture will also establish related online properties and marketing capabilities, including live and online events. The two companies may also determine to launch Chinese editions of additional Ziff Davis Ziff Davis Inc. (ZD) is an American magazine publisher and Internet Information company. It was founded in 1927 in Chicago by William B. Ziff, Sr. and Bernard G. Davis. Throughout most of its history, it was a publisher of hobbyist magazines, often ones devoted to expensive,  magazines and services in the future. ZD Media chairman/ceo Robert Callahan said that Ziff Davis "searched for over a year for the ideal partner" to launch the Chinese edition of "PC Magazine."

Also, Ziff Davis has launched a white paper library service designed to assist professional technology buyers identify, research and make informed technology buying decisions. Hosted on the Ziff Davis Web Buyer's Guide, the library will serve as a repository for all vendor white papers included within a list of over 500 vertical IT topics.

Finally, Ziff Davis had third quarter revenue of $41.8 million, a decrease of 9.4% from 2004 third quarter revenue of $46.2 million. The company had a loss from operations of $3.5 million and spent $28.9 million on interest expenses for a total third quarter loss of $32.4 million compared to a loss of $22.2 million in the period last year. For the first nine months of this year, Ziff Davis had a total loss of $88.2 million, including $81.3 million in interest payments, on revenue of $129.9 million.
