SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif. -- ZiLOG(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:ZILG), the creator of the Z80(R) microprocessor and a leading innovator of integrated microcontrollers and universal remote control solutions, today announced the roll-out of its new Crimzon(TM) ZLR ZLR Zoom-Lens Reflex (camera)

The Crimzon ZLR32300 microcontrollers are available immediately and are 100 percent software compatible with ZiLOG's current Crimzon family of OTP (1) (One Time Programmable) Refers to programming content or logic into chips such as EPROMs and EEPROMs, which cannot be reversed. An extension of the Crimzon family of IR microcontrollers, the ZLR32300 targets markets such as IR remote controls and wireless keyboards. Its low power consumption (6mW is typical) also makes the ZLR32300 ideal for use in consumer handheld devices, extending the battery life of these devices, saving the user money. In addition, with the design based on the popular Z8(R) core and built around CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer) Pronounced "sisk." The traditional architecture of a computer which uses microcode to execute very comprehensive instructions.  architecture, the ZLR32300 provides a stable base platform allowing rapid development, small-volume production and a migration path to MROM MROM - Mask Read-Only Memory  for high volume production of remote controls.

The new devices offer a choice of 8, 16, 24 or 32KB of ROM memory, a 2.0 - 3.6V operating range, and come in 20, 28, 40 and 48-pin and SOIC (Small Outline IC) A small-dimension, plastic, rectangular, surface mount chip package that uses gull-wing pins extending outward.
