Zhujiang Delta oil product pipeline reaches Shenzhen.

The Shenzhen (Huizhou) section of the Zhujiang Delta oil product pipeline started construction on Sept. 30, 2004 ahead of schedule. Coordination with local governments was mostly completed by the end of April this year.

To ensure oil product supply in the Zhujiang Delta, solve problems in oil product transportation and establish and improve state oil reserve bases, Sinopec has made investments in the Zhujiang Delta oil product pipeline project to connect three locations of petrochemical resources with consumption pipeline networks between cities in the Zhujiang Delta. The project has a total investment of RMB3 billion and a design transmitting capacity of 9.5 million t/a. Products for transmission include #90 gasoline, #95 gasoline, diesel and naphtha. The pipeline has a total length of 1 056kin. It starts from Zhanjiang Dongxing Refinery in the west and goes to Shenzhen in the east via Maoming Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. It passes 12 cities on route. After the completion of the project at the end of next year, oil products will be transmitted in a safe, efficient, environmental benign and stable way to the Zhujiang Delta and Shenzhen. The Shenzhen section has an investment of RMB5 000 million and a length of around 115km.
