MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Zeus Technology, a leading provider of award-winning application traffic management software, today announced that Escelsa, part of the Energias do Brasil Group, has selected Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM) and Zeus Web Server (ZWS) to improve the availability and performance of their network and their web-enabled billing system. This sale is a result of Zeus' new partnership with Brazilian reseller, ITLOG, a provider of IT management applications and managed services.

Due to the great results, the solution has been standardized as the traffic management solution for the whole group, which includes two other power distribution companies and hydroelectric plants, among others.

Energias do Brasil, a leading Brazilian energy provider owned by EDP (Portugal's major energy Group), had been searching for a clustered load balancing solution with SSL offloading features and were looking to reduce the downtime caused by maintenance to servers. They searched the market for solutions to meet their needs and in addition to Zeus, they considered products by F5 Networks, Radware, Cisco and Foundry. However, Zeus was their choice because of its clear differentiators in the areas of, scalability, virtualization and value for money.
