Zero team revelry turns tragic: "fun and games" abruptly end when am loses an eye.

SANDIEGO, CA -- A festive and exuberant pillowfight by the Zero team last Friday turned sour when rider Sheldon Meleshinski was walloped in the head and lost his glass eye.

The team was enjoying a weekend of rest at the Pungent Pines Resort after being on a heavy skate regiment for their upcoming third bid on Thrasher's King of the Road later this summer. Captain Jamie Thomas said he wanted the riders to have fun and express themselves freely. "They've been ripping lately. They earned it."

Although Meleshinski knew pranks were afoot, he said this particular pillowfight was an ambush.

"I knocked on the door and they told me to come in. It was dark," Meleshinski said. "Next thing I know, I heard maniacal giggling and then I got smacked in the head with a pillow. My eye rolled away and we never found it."

The rambunctious Zero team was later thrown out of the resort for towel-snapping, water-balloon fights, de-pantsing some of the valets, and a profanity-laced Hot Wax karaoke performance.

Meleshinksi says he bears no ill-will.

"It was all just fun and games. Those glass eyes are pretty expensive, though. Rattray gave me a ping-pong ball but it doesn't fit."
