Bill Berger Joins Management Team; Gilbert Hetherwick to Serve On Board of Directors

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Zenph([R]) Studios, an entertainment technology company that builds advanced software to understand - and recreate - how musicians play, announces two key appointments: Bill Berger joins the management team as Consulting Executive and Gilbert Hetherwick will serve on the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Berger joins Zenph after a long and distinguished career as a chief executive at a number of record labels. As owner of Ring Cycle Music, a private consulting firm, he advises classical, jazz and popular artists regarding career development issues and relationships with labels and management.

Prior to his consulting work, Berger served at Time-Warner Inc. as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Elektra Entertainment Group before the company's buyout and eventual merger into Atlantic Records. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Chamelion Entertainment, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Arista Records, the same title he held at Island Entertainment. He also held the positions of Executive Vice President and General Manager at Nonesuch Records in its formative years as an innovative leader in classical and world music.

Gilbert Hetherwick joins Zenph's board as the past President of Sony BMG Masterworks. He took his first music industry job at PolyGram Classics (now Universal) as Regional Marketing Manager for the Southwest. He held other executive positions at EMI Records and Telarc. His career has included stints in sales and marketing, album production and artist and repertoire, where he worked with such renowned artists as Ravi Shankar, Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Liza Minnelli, Evgeny Kissin, Bobby McFerrin, Bernadette Peters, Christopher Parkening and others. He left Sony BMG at the end of 2006 and now works as an independent consultant and producer for musical artists in many different genres.

Zenph specializes in software and processes for understanding and re-creating how musicians perform. The firm's innovative processes takes audio recordings and turns them into nuanced live performances that precisely replicate the original musician's touch, timing and sound as heard on the original recording. The details of the playing are preserved as high-resolution data files. These re-performance[TM] files can then be played back using real acoustic musical instruments fitted with sophisticated computers and hardware, letting the listener "sit in the room" as if he or she were there when the original recording was made. Most important, the re-performance can be recorded afresh, using the latest microphones and recording techniques, to modernize monophonic or poor-quality recordings of beloved performances into new recordings with vastly superior sound quality.

The company's first title, released in spring 2007 by Sony BMG Masterworks, is a re-performance of Glenn Gould's 1955 Bach Goldberg Variations.
