of $49 million, compared with a loss of $43.7 million for the same
period a year earlier. Revenue for the Woodland Hills-based carrier of
workers' compensation workers' compensation, payment by employers for some part of the cost of injuries, or in some cases of occupational diseases, received by employees in the course of their work. insurance rose to $318 million from $292
million in the year-prior period.
