After some recent sharp declines, the markets had a bit of a rally Tuesday but it is still very much within the existing sharp short-term downtrend and it barely shows on the daily charts. Tim Murray thinks that there will be another shot at the May lows before the short-term downtrend is reversed. That is not an idea that he is going to dig a trench around to defend, but it is what he thinks this afternoon.

Murray has trimmed his list down of late and have kept the cash. Perhaps he will start to do some buying soon.

Annaly Mortgage (NYSE:NLY) specializes in investing in Mortgage-Backed Securities. Murray doesn't expect any particular news from NLY until the late September dividend announcement, but interest rate moves up and down will likely affect the stock. The stock is at a very good buy point and the current yield is 12%.

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) is one of the world's leading financial services companies. This has been flirting with a new high since Murray bought it and it is not far away. As a quality dividend paying stock it does tend to do better on weak market days. He continues to consider it a buy on dips and a good stock to add to.

CCA Industries (AMEX:CAW) is engaged in the health and beauty aids business with a line of health and beauty aids products which it has manufactured on its behalf under its formulations. The daily chart looks very good. The pull back after the breakout has been very well contained. Now there appears to be some of the same steady accumulation type buying that attracted Murray to the stock originally.

Waste Connections (NYSE:WCN) is a regional, integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in secondary markets of the Western U.S. The quarterly report that came out last Thursday was good and the stock trades well.
