Seattle Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGEN) discovers and develops monoclonal antibody-based drugs to treat cancer and other human diseases. ArQule, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARQL) is a recognized leader in small-molecule chemistry, and is pursuing a strategy to become an efficient drug discovery and development company. ArQule provides high quality library design and compound production to pharmaceutical collaborators. After a charge, the company reported profits for the third quarter versus the consensus of a loss of $0.18 per share. On the top-line the company reported revenue of $15,961,000 versus the consensus of $13,000,000. ArQule updated its financial guidance for the year ending December 31, 2003. ArQule now expects revenues to range between $58 and $60 million. This increase from prior guidance of $56 to $58 million primarily reflects achievements at the high end of expectations for Pfizer. With $74 million in cash, raised guidance, the recent Cyclis acquisition, Phase I clinical trials of cancer drug ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) A method of handling communications errors in which the receiving station requests retransmission if an error occurs.
