Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADVS) reported second-quarter earnings in mid-July. The result topped the consensus estimate by nine cents and reversed the year prior loss. The company mentioned that it saw its highest year-over-year quarterly revenue growth rate since the first quarter of 2002. Earnings estimates for the year ending December 2005 are above three months ago levels by eight cents, or almost 35%.

Current fiscal second-quarter estimates of 39 cents are approximately 18% ahead of last week's estimates.

ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) earnings estimates for the year ending December 2005 climbed eight cents, or almost 21%, over the past 90 trading days. In late July, the company posted preliminary and unaudited financial results for the second quarter. Excluding items, earnings totaled 11 cents per share, which was ahead of the consensus estimate by approximately 22% and outpaced last year's second-quarter result. Revenues increased 34.6% year-over-year. ARRS noted that new technology approaches such as packet bonding for higher speed data transmission rates and the wide acceptance of VoIP service offerings are both creating and sustaining demand for innovative ARRIS products.

Frontier Oil Corporation (NYSE:FTO) earnings estimates for the year ending December 2005 climbed $1.42, or almost 55%, from one month ago. This advancement includes an increase of 16 cents, or approximately 4%, over the past seven trading days. In early August, the company announced second-quarter earnings of $1.16 per share, surpassing the consensus estimate by more than 11% and eclipsing the year prior result. The company mentioned that its balance sheet was in excellent shape at quarter end.
