The company is still fighting for share and to improve its technologies so PoE could be used for more applications, and we expect the company to continue to report a loss for the remainder of the year. We will be paying close attention to the progress the company is making in its R&D efforts, which could help boost our outlook for 2007. We continue to rate shares of PDSN a Hold, although the stock has rebounded recently. We have raised our price target to $10 or 6x our 06 sales estimate. Mattson Stays Aggressive Mattson (Nasdaq: MTSN) is the largest OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and of dry strip and the second largest OEM of RTP (1) (Rapid Transport Protocol) The protocol used in IBM's High Performance Routing (HPR) system. (2) (Realtime Transport Protocol) An IP protocol that supports real time transmission of voice and video. semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the world. June quarter top-line and bottom-line results were in line with consensus estimates. The company has recently set aggressive new goals of +50% gross margin and $500 million in yearly revenue. We think the goals are attainable in the long term if the company continues its momentum in the logic market. Consequently, we are maintaining the Buy rating on shares of MTSN. Market for STM May Slow We expect STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) to grow revenues by 1% sequentially and 12% year-over-year when the company reports its third quarter financial results on October 25th. We also expect the company's EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) A PostScript file format used to transfer a graphic image between applications and platforms. EPS files contain PostScript code as well as an optional preview image in TIFF, WMF, PICT or EPSI, the latter being an ASCII-only format. to grow to $0.21 per share in the quarter, and for the company to discuss the market conditions going into the fourth quarter, which is what we are concerned about the most. We remain concerned that the semiconductor market will begin to slow in the fourth quarter, and growth in 2007 may be much lower than expected. We continue to rate shares of STM a Hold, although we have slightly raised our price target to $18 over the next six months, or 22.5x our fiscal 2006 EPS estimate.
