Good Prices in Retail

As with nearly all stocks, retailers are getting knocked down pretty good today. Is it time to sell? Hardly.

For many retailers, business is booming, and we have seen no signs of that stopping. Even so, macro fears that include high gas prices, inflation, and higher interest rates are causing the stocks of the solid companies to sell off as well. While these conditions will negatively impact retailers in general, we think the selling in many names is overdone o·ver·done

. So, unless the consumer quits shopping altogether, many of these left-for-dead-retailers should enjoy a nice bounce sometime this summer when the back-to-school shopping season starts getting price into stocks.

We think the recent decline in stock prices presents a great time take positions in stocks with the strongest market positions--eBay (Nasdaq:EBAY)--or those stocks growing from regional players to national brands--Cititrends (Nasdaq:CTRN) or Zumiez (Nasdaq:ZUMZ).
