ZLB Behring Donates US$9.8 Million in Product for Hemophilia Therapy Worldwide.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Company Donates Monoclate-P(R), Mononine(R) and Helixate(R) FS through Project SHARE, World Federation of Hemophilia and Patient Assistance Program

ZLB Behring (a CSL Limited Company) has recently donated hemophilia therapy products through Project SHARE (Supplying Hemophilia Aid and Relief Everywhere), the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the ZLB Behring Patient Assistance for distribution in developing countries and in the United States. The product inventory donation, which included Monoclate-P(R), Antihemophilic Factor (Human), Factor VIII: C Pasteurized Monoclonal Antibody Purified; Mononine(R), Coagulation Factor IX (Human), Monoclonal Antibody Purified; and Helixate(R) FS, Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant), is part of ZLB Behring's continuing commitment to the bleeding disorders patient community around the world.

The donated products total over 15.2 million units and represent an approximate market value of US$9.8 million. The coagulation products will be used to aid organizations in providing support to patients with bleeding disorders in countries that have limited access to treatment, including Colombia, Serbia, Lebanon, and many others, as well as to patients in need in the United States.

ZLB Behring's continued support of the bleeding disorders community extends to other organizations, including the U.S. National Hemophilia Foundation's Project Red Flag: Real Talk About Women's Bleeding Disorders. Under the umbrella of this program, grants have been awarded to 12 chapters and associations to stimulate the development of innovative efforts for women affected by bleeding disorders, and to build a body of outreach strategies, evaluation tools and measurable outcomes. Additionally, Project Red Flag is pursuing legislative initiatives to increase the awareness and understanding of von Willebrand Disease in order to enhance treatment of the disease via research, funding and improved access to treatment centers.

Through the worldwide initiative of the Immune Tolerance Study Group, ZLB Behring supports studies to investigate the best treatment options for hemophilia inhibitor patients. Additionally, the ZLB Behring Grant program, "Simple Things, Great Results," supports projects for improving quality of life for people with hemophilia in developing countries. Three grants totaling US$37,000 are being presented during a ceremony October 20th at the International Congress of the World Federation of Hemophilia in Bangkok, Thailand.
