Organizers are hoping to confirm major-leaguer Todd Zeile
    Todd Edward Zeile (born September 9, 1965 in Van Nuys, California) is a former third baseman and first baseman in Major League Baseball who played from 1989 to 2004.

    Event organizer Bob Fick said the alumni will play their own game instead of playing Hart's varsity - ``That's the way they did it last year and it made for a fun time,'' Fick said - so the varsity will have its own scrimmage beginning at 8:30 a.m.

    A ceremony honoring former Hart coach Mike Halcovich, fellow alum Chris Vasquez and longtime statistician Mike Gaber is scheduled for 10 a.m.

    Fick said he's still searching for former Hart players wishing to participate. For information, call Fick at (661) 255-3743.

    --Collins welcomes back players: Valencia High boys' basketball coach Robert ``Rocket'' Collins, who played at the Master's College back in the 1970s when the school was called L.A. Baptist, has been living or working in Santa Clarita for three decades.

    ``I remember when the Valencia Town Center was an onion field,'' he said.

    Nothing gives Collins more satisfaction than when former players call or come by to say hello. That's why it was a special day last week when two of his former players, Fabian Leon and Larry Phillips, coincidentally rang Collins within 10 minutes of each other. Collins invited both of them to come talk to his basketball team.

    ``It was great. They talked to my kids about values and hard work,'' Collins said.
