ZEH Software Inc. (ZEH), a leading software development company specializing in enterprise-wide network printing and plotting solutions, has teamed with Hewlett-Packard Company, the worldwide leader in large-format-printer sales, to enhance ZEHRaster Plus for HP DesignJet printers. Beginning Sept. 1, 2000, HP began shipping ZEHRaster Plus with the recently announced HP DesignJet 800PS, HP DesignJet 500PS, HP DesignJet 5000 and HP DesignJet 5000PS printers. UNIX and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Computer Aided CAD and GIS application users can now extend the power of their HP DesignJet printers with the addition of CALS (Continuous Life-cycle Support), TIFF and JPEG raster graphic compatibility.

Now, CAD and GIS users and project leaders who work with CALS-, TIFF- or JPEG-format files can print these files directly to their HP DesignJet printers without having to access the application with which the files were originally created. An optional CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) module is also available directly from ZEH.

Users will be able to quickly and easily select print settings due to the simplicity of the user interface. The user selects a file and submits it to the designated HP DesignJet printer, which may be attached either directly to the user workstation or on the network. With ZEHRaster Plus, complex CAD and GIS output and large modeling files are processed and printed in a fraction of the time previously required. ZEHRaster Plus is included, at no charge, with the HP DesignJet 800PS, 500PS, 5000 and 5000PS Series printers as well as other DesignJets.
