ZDNet Sites Reach Traffic Milestones: 9 Million Visitors, or Nearly 15 Percent of All Web Users in March.

SAN FRANCISCO, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- March was a banner month for ZDNet (NYSE: ZDZ), according to the latest Media Metrix World Wide Web Audience Ratings Report. ZDNet Sites reached 14.7 percent of the Web population last month, with 9 million unique visitors accessing its broad selection of technology-focused content, community and commerce services -- an increase of 1 million over February. The average number of unique monthly visitors to ZDNet Sites grew by nearly 20 percent from Q4 1998 to Q1 1999.

The March Media Metrix report shows that ZDNet Sites is one of the most popular content networks on the Web, ranking #14 among all Web properties, a list that includes leading portals such as the AOL Network, Microsoft Sites and Yahoo Sites. In addition, ZDNet has maintained its #1 rank over all other sites in the News, Information and Entertainment category in Media Metrix's At-Home category for 31 of the past 33 months, showing a solid, consistent lead over top general-interest news sites such as CNN and MSNBC. ZDNet also ranks #1 in this category in the combined At-Home/At-Work report, for the eighth consecutive month.

Media Metrix data also shows that users spend nearly twice as much time per month on ZDNet Sites as they do on other sites that are widely considered to compete with ZDNet in the technology space. During the first quarter of this year, visitors spent an average of 20 minutes per month on ZDNet Sites.
