BRITAIN'S salons are being bombarded - by women demanding the very latest haircut, the "Shazza".

Just as Jennifer Aniston's layered locks launched a craze for "Rachel" cuts, Sharon Osbourne's cute crop has done the same. And no wonder - the new do has taken years off the 53-year-old X Factor judge.

The day Sharon unveiled her coffee-coloured bob, Superdrug sold out of dye overnight. Last week, the chemist even hosted in-store "Shaz Fests", making over customers to look like Sharon. But can just anyone get away with the Shazza?

To find out, we sent four friends from Surrey to the Daniel Galvin Salon in London's West End (above right). There they were transformed by Sharon's personal colourist Tej, and had a consultation with her stylist Leno who customised the style to suit them... [e-mail]

NATURAL COLOUR: Brunette

MY natural hair colour is brown but I haven't seen it for eight years. I watch Sharon on the X Factor every Saturday and as soon as I saw her new look I wanted to go brown again. I love the colour and the way that it's cut to come across her face. She looks glamorous and great. She got away with the last hairstyle but this one is softer.

She's the one role model on television who appeals to women of my age. I couldn't get away with copying the young presenters on TV.

"I love my new Sharon look - now I'd love her bank account.

TEJ SAYS: "I USED a warm chestnut colour on Margaret's hair and added some blonder highlights around the face to stop the brown looking too dark against her skin tone. A darker colour would have been far too draining and made her look washed out."

I WENT completely grey when my husband died five years ago. I dye it every now and then but I don't really have the time.

I watch X Factor every Saturday with my 14-year-old daughter Yasmin, who thinks Sharon looks really cool. It was Yasmin who suggested that her hairstyle would suit me, I never think about changing myself or doing anything for me.

Sharon is amazing and with her personality she can carry off anything, but I'm really excited about getting her look.

TEJ SAYS: "BRIDGID is very fair and her natural colouring is light. Dark browns would be too heavy for her pale complexion, so I went for lighter blondes and used the mocha and caramel tones in Sharon's hair."

NATURAL COLOUR: Can't remember

I HAVE been dyeing my hair for so long I don't know what my natural hair colour is any more. I have been lightening it since I was 16 and I got my first job. I'd buy a box of blonde bleach and do it myself. These days my daughter-in-law, who's a hairdresser, dyes it for me.

When I saw Sharon's new look on the X Factor I instantly wanted to try it. I liked her

hair before but this new colour and cut is much better. She looks amazing for her age.

With my new hair I feel like Sharon Osbourne. I'd love a day in her life, but I'm glad my husband's not Ozzy - please don't write that because she won't invite me round for tea.

OF all Sharon's looks I like this one best. I love having red hair. I dye mine to make it more vibrant. But I fancied Sharon's hairstyle for a change - it looks sophisticated and modern.

I will definitely keep it like this. Sharon Osbourne is an inspiration to anyone over 50. Everything is for youngsters these days and you feel like there's nothing left to try out. But her new look has given us a boost.

Everyone loves her and has taken her to their hearts. I can really relate to her - she has a dysfunctional family like mine, although I swear a lot less than she does! My daughter even has the same kind of dog.
