Juvenile arthritis (JA), also called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), refers to a number of different conditions, all of which strike children, and all of which have immune-mediated joint inflammation as their major
 Organization (AJAO AJAO American Juvenile Arthritis Organization ), a council of the Arthritis Foundation, is accepting Delta SkyMiles(R) donations now through December 31, 2002. Donated miles will help send children and their families to the annual AJAO conference.

AJAO is devoted to serving the special needs of children, teens and young adults with juvenile arthritis and related diseases. Donated miles will be used to provide transportation to families who otherwise would be unable to attend the AJAO conference, the only national conference that brings together families and health professionals to help children live better, despite the challenges of the disease. As donations permit, SkyMiles will also be used to transport children to physical and occupational therapy, as well as treatment and surgery facilities.

Donations can be made through December 31, 2002 via e-mail at delta.bids@delta.com or by calling 800/325-3999 or via fax at 404/773-1945. There is a 5,000-mile minimum donation and Delta will boost each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles contributed. SkyMiles members should include their SkyMiles account number, the amount of miles to be donated and should note that the Arthritis Foundation is the charity their miles will benefit. SkyWish donations are not tax deductible That which may be taken away or subtracted. In taxation, an item that may be subtracted from gross income or adjusted gross income in determining taxable income (e.g., interest expenses, charitable contributions, certain taxes). .
