In Irish mythology, Cian (/kʲiːən/ Nicholl from Rastrick Independent Schools plants
a wooden cross in the school garden to represent the fallen.
The school held an outdoor service yesterday to remember those
killed in action.
Headteacher Susan Vaughey led the service in the school grounds and
children played recorders during the ceremony.
A parent also played the Scottish pipes.
Pupils planted wooden poppy poppy, common name for some members of the Papaveraceae, a family composed chiefly of herbs of the Northern Hemisphere having a characteristic milky or colored sap. crosses in the school garden to
remember the fallen of past and present conflicts.
The school holds an annual event on November 11 for children,
parents and staff.
