To quote the review of the hardcover in KLIATT, November 2004: This strange tale reminds me of the work of Donna Jo Napoli in her reworking of myths--it is also related to the Spider-Man stories, sort of. Nancy (from Anansi, the clever spider in African folktales) is the main character. Her family is somewhat strange and this story is about her discovery of who they are and what she is. Her parents love one another dearly, but are unable to live in the same home, so Nancy sometimes is with her mother, a weaver who never goes outside, and sometimes with her father, who lives in a simple structure on a rooftop. This is a story that defies a plot summary. From the cover art to the final page, the author deftly creates an intriguing web that soon attracts and draws her readers into the alternate universe of Nancy and her family. It's smart, sometimes poetic, with incredible images of the cityscape (company) CityScape - A re-seller of Internet connections to the PIPEX backbone.
