You say Waorani.I enjoyed the article on Chad Allen Chad Allen may refer to:
Aubrey, Father converts savages to Christianity. [Fr. Lit.: Atala] Boniface, St. missionary to the German infidels in 8th century. [Christian Hagiog.: Brewster, 271] Davidson, Rev. Man," August 30], but I did notice an error in reference to the "Waodani," the violent tribe from the Ecuadoran Amazon. They are actually called the Waorani. I know this because my professor from a couple of years ago, Clay Robarchek at Wichita State University Wichita State University (WSU) is an American state-supported university located in the city of Wichita, Kansas. WSU is one of six state universities governed by the Kansas Board of Regents. The current President is Dr. Donald Beggs. , lived with them in the late 1980s and wrote a book about them titled Waorani: The Contexts of Violence and War. I think it is wonderful that Allen went there and stayed with them. They are an extremely interesting people to study in the field of anthropology anthropology, classification and analysis of humans and their society, descriptively, culturally, historically, and physically. Its unique contribution to studying the bonds of human social relations has been the distinctive concept of culture. . DARA LARSON Wichita, Kan. |
