MY girlfriend and I attended the excellent production of Regeneration Regeneration (biology)
The process by which an animal restores a lost part of its body. Broadly defined, the term can include wound healing, tissue repair, and many kinds of restorative activities. Generation at the Unity Theatre on September September: see month. 17.
A number of elderly residents from north Liverpool Liverpool, city (1991 pop. 448,300), NW England, on the Mersey River near its mouth. It is one of Britain's largest cities. A large center for food processing (especially flour and sugar), Liverpool has a variety of industries, including the manufacture of electrical put together a thought-provoking piece on how the regeneration of Liverpool may be at the expense of Liverpool people and, in particular, the elderly.
They acted it themselves and encouraged the small audience to offer solutions to the problems they revealed.
Speaking to some performers after the show, it was clear that they were not doing it to improve their own situations but wanted to make sure that future generations learn from the mistakes of the past and present.
All involved are to be congratulated. However, special thanks should go to Collective Encounters who helped the residents put together the play.
The cast showed that the 'our' generation still has much to learn from them and that Liverpool's cultural talent can be found in a lot of people regardless of age.
