You can participate in the 2008 ABA bank marketing survey.

How do your marketing expenditures compare with those of other banks of comparable size? Are you spending too much on advertising? And not enough on community relations?

One of the industry's most comprehensive sources of data on banks' marketing expenses, media use and effectiveness is the ABA Bank Marketing Survey Report, which is published every two years.

The compilers, the ABA Benchmarking & Survey Research Group, are currently collecting data for the report's 2008 version, which is scheduled for release and distribution in early fall 2008.

Banks that participate in this year's survey will receive a detailed management summary of survey results; in addition, they will receive a 50 percent discount on the full report.

The survey is being conducted online this year for the first time. To complete the online survey or to download a PDF version for review only, go to the following Web site: www.aba.com/surveys+and+statistics/_marketing.com. The online survey will remain open until April 18.

If you have questions or comments about the survey, contact Mark Babey, senior project manager at mbabey@aba.com or telephone (202) 663-5178.
