GSX 3000 Delivers Transparent Wide Area Data Sharing across NASA Goddard and SC06 Exhibit Floor

TAMPA, Fla. -- YottaYotta, the High Performance Netstorage[R] Company, and the Data Intensive Computing Environment (DICE) program will provide a live demonstration of transparent wide area data sharing between NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, Maryland and the exhibit floor in Tampa, Florida during the annual SC06 conference of high performance computing, storage and analysis for customers with demanding data sharing, access and distribution requirements.

With servers, storage, and networking equipment provided by DICE vendor participants, the live demonstration will deploy the Sun StorageTek QFS shared file system, Sun StorageTek SAM-FS software, and YottaYotta's GSX 3000 NetStorage Control Node to provide a distributed data center capable of offering coherent read and write access to a shared data image across real-world networks with wire distances of thousands of miles.

The DICE program is a new approach to investigating technology solutions. It addresses challenges associated with creation and use of large quantities of geographically dispersed data and provides a multi-agency environment aimed at reducing the time-to-solution for complex data intensive problems. DICE is founded by Aeronautical Systems Center Major Shared Resource Center, administered by the Advanced Virtual Engine Test Cell (AVETeC), and managed by the Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). CSC has selected YottaYotta's GSX 3000 to not only improve data accessibility, but to provide a platform to effectively manage distributed data and optimize global data sharing across U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy and NASA facilities.
