Yotsuya Medical Cube to Offer Bariatric Surgery.


Tokyo, Japan, May 16, 2006 - (JCN) - Yotsuya Medical Cube, a private medical clinic in Tokyo, announced on May 15 that it will begin offering bariatric surgery on June 1.

Specifically, the clinic will offer laparoscopic gastric bypass and adjustable gastric band surgery as well as gastric balloon insertion. In addition, a dedicated staff team including nutritionists nu·tri·tion·ist (n-trsh-n and social workers will provide comprehensive post-surgery support.

Currently, 23 million Japanese are considered obese, of whom about 200,000 - 400,000 suffer from morbid obesity.
