The Tri-State Region is commonly used in the area surrounding New York City to unambiguously refer to the greater metropolitan area. Sometimes the phrase is shortened to "the Tri-State," or "the Tri-State Area" is used instead.
 Institutional Group, recently sold the leasehold interest in Yonkers Shopping Center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  to YNR Management for $11.8 million or $209.36 psf.

The Yonkers Shopping Center is a 56,361 s/f single-story shopping center located along the heavily traveled Central Avenue (Route 100) retail corridor in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York '' Westchester County is a primarily suburban county located in the U.S. state of New York with about 950,000 residents. It is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. It was named after Chester, in England, and the county seat is White Plains. . The property is situated on a 6.295 acre parcel of land that operates under a leasehold interest which expires in 2047.

The center was originally constructed in 1972 and subsequently renovated in 1999. Currently 92% leased, the center is anchored by Staples (28,054 s/ f), with other well known tenants including Lucille Roberts and Outback Steakhouse.
