Yo Wants to Know

"Hey, Dad, Lips says he's cold," says Yo. "We should make him a coat."

"Good idea," says Dad. "We can use that old blanket that looks like fur."

"The blanket's way too big," says Yo.

"We'll measure Lips and cut out pieces the right size," says Dad.

"Look. Lips's ear comes to '9' on my ruler," says Yo.

"Ears . . . 9 inches," says Dad. "My tape measure will work better for the rest of him because it's longer."

"From collar to tail is 28 inches," says Dad. "Now let's measure around his middle."

"Stop wiggling, Lips!" says Yo.

"Hey! My hand is shorter than Lips's ear," exclaims Yo.

"It's only 5 inches."

"Now Lips is nice and warm," says Yo, "and he looks great!"
