YesSoftware Releases 15 Free Open Source Web Applications at www.GotoCode.com.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2001

YesSoftware, Inc. today announced the launch of www.GotoCode.com, a new portal website designed to showcase its open source applications and function as a community web site for web developers and users of its code generation software -- CodeCharge. Featured on the website is a selection of database driven web applications and examples with source code that can be downloaded at no charge in variety of scripting languages. Beginning with 15 free applications, the offering is projected to increase based on user demand and contribution from community members.

Of the fifteen initial applications, twelve are geared towards internet/consumer use and these are: Online store, Classifieds, Event Management, Forum/Discussions, Ledger, Link Management, MetaSearch, Portal, Registration Form, Tell-A-Friend, Yellow Pages and WAP (1) (Wireless Access Point) See access point.

All software available at GotoCode.com is generated with the use of YesSoftware's revolutionary code generator CodeCharge, and available for download in numerous server-side programming languages: ASP with VBScript, JSP (JavaServer Page) An extension to the Java servlet technology from Sun that allows HTML to be combined with Java on the same page. The Java provides the processing, and the HTML provides the layout on the Web page. , PHP (PHP Hypertext Preprocessor) A scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages. With syntax from C, Java and Perl, PHP code is embedded within HTML pages for server side execution. , Perl, Cold Fusion and ASP.Net/C#. Similarly diverse are backend databases with a selection including MS Access, MS SQL Server See Microsoft SQL Server. , Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others. To cap it all, the applications are deployable on Unix/ Linux or Windows servers such as Apache, IIS (Internet Information Services) Microsoft's Web server. IIS runs under the server versions of Windows, adding HTTP server capability to the Windows operating system.  4.0 and 5.0 and Personal Web Server. With a focus on simplicity and functionality, CodeCharge generated code is at once clear enough for a beginning developer to understand and at the same time extensible to allow for the creation of complicated database driven web applications.
